Upgrade, downgrade, or delete account

You can upgrade, downgrade, or delete your account via the settings in Shortwave. Here's how to manage your account and billing:

Upgrade from free to a paid plan

  1. Go to Settings > Members & Billing
  2. Click the Upgrade button
  3. Select your desired plan
  4. Enter your payment information and complete the purchase

Upgrading gives you access to paid features like full import history, better AI models, more comprehensive AI-powered search, as well as many additional features.

Upgrade an existing subscription

  1. Go to Settings > Members & Billing
  2. Click the Manage Plan button
  3. Select "Update Subscription"
  4. Select your desired plan
  5. Enter your payment information and complete the purchase

Downgrade to a different paid plan

  1. Go to Settings > Members & Billing
  2. Select the team you're paying for from the dropdown
  3. Click the Manage plan button in the billing information section
  4. Select "Update plan"
  5. Select your new plan and hit "Continue"
  6. Confirm your selection

Downgrading to a different plan will affect some of your access to paid features, such as custom AI Assistant prompts and how far back your AI-assisted search covers. To learn more about managing billing and plans, check out our explainer here.

Downgrade to free

  1. Go to Settings > Members & Billing
  2. Select the team you're paying for from the dropdown
  3. Click the Manage plan button in the billing information section
  4. Click "Cancel plan" and then confirm your cancellation

Downgrading to the free plan removes your access to all paid features, such as the ability to search your full email history or use AI-assisted search. To learn more about managing billing and plans, check out our explainer.

After downgrading, you and other team members can still access your previous plan's paid features until the billing period ends.
