Enable push notifications

You can enable push on desktop or mobile by following the corresponding steps for your device or browser.

If you've already followed these instructions and are still not receiving push notifications, follow these troubleshooting steps.

On web

On all browsers:

  1. Navigate to Shortwave Settings > Notifications
  2. If you see the following banner, click "Turn on":
  3. Click "Allow" when your browser prompts you to show notifications
  4. If you do not see the banner from step 2, follow the instructions that correspond to your browser below

Chrome

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click on the lock 🔒 to the left of the URL
  3. Toggle "Notifications" on
  4. Refresh the page

Firefox

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click the blocked notification icon to the left of the URL
  3. Click the X on the "Blocked" indicator
  4. Refresh the page
  5. Click "Enable" when you see the banner requesting permission to enable push notifications

Safari

  1. From your computer's menu bar, click Safari > Settings
  2. Click on the "Websites" tab
  3. Click "Notifications" in the left scroll pane
  4. Find app.shortwave.com and ensure it is set to "Allow"
  5. Close the menu
  6. Refresh the page

Edge

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click on the lock 🔒 to the left of the URL
  3. Click the "Notifications" dropdown and select "Allow"
  4. Close the menu
  5. Refresh the page

On mobile

iOS

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Go to "Notifications"
  3. Click on Shortwave
  4. Toggle "Allow notifications" on

Android

  1. Open the Android Settings app
  2. Go to "Notifications"
  3. Go to "App notifications"
  4. Scroll to Shortwave
  5. Toggle on
